2017 Gingerbread House Contest, Deadline November 16

Lake Charles, La. - The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting their annual Gingerbread House Contest, and you're invited to participate and have your house displayed for many to see and enjoy during the Christmas season as they visit the Welcome Center.

The "Annual Gingerbread House Contest" is set for Saturday, December 2, at 12 p.m., at 1205 North Lakeshore Drive, where there will be an award ceremony. Pick up your entry forms or enter online via the bureau website. All entries must be in before the Thursday, November 16 deadline. "Entries must be delivered to the Convention & Visitors Bureau between 1 – 4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1." 

There will be multiple divisions or the gingerbread houses, including amateur, professional and school groups.

The gingerbread houses will remain on display at the bureau throughout the month of December, and all visitors during that time will be able to vote on the People’s Choice Award to be announced Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the bureau", said a media release.
