Are you a Christmas fanatic? I'm talking decorating before we can get through Halloween and Thanksgiving fanatic. If you missed out on last years inaugural "Mini Christmas Tree Decorating Contest" in Sulphur, then here's your chance to compete in the 2nd Annual event! Keep in mind, "Christmas trees for this contest are provided free of charge, but they are limited in supply, and the deadline to register and pick up trees is Monday, Nov. 19, by 5 pm". said a media release.

The tree is 18-inches tall and must be picked up from Creole Nature Trail Adventure Point, located at 2740 Ruth St., beginning on Thursday, Nov. 1, through Monday, Nov. 19. Business hours are from 8:30 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday; and 8:30 am - 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday.

After your tree is decorated, deliver it to the Brimstone Museum Complex by Friday, Dec. 7, from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm. First place receives $50; second receives $25 and third place receives $15. Decoration theme ideas include Louisiana culture, Louisiana history, seafood, music, Cajun, Creole or festivals."

The contest and judging take place Saturday, December 8, at Brimstone Museum Complex in Sulphur, with an award ceremony featuring Gumbeaux Gator at 12 pm.
