50 Cent just secured a role in an upcoming crime drama titled Den of Thieves, which will star Gerard Butler and be directed by Christian Gudegast, who also co-wrote the script.

According to Deadline, the story will surround a group of expert bank robbers, who go against an elite team of Los Angeles police officers while they try to knock over the Federal Reserve Bank. Reportedly, the plot will be similar to the 1995 film Heat starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and 50 will be playing one of the bank robbers.

Just a few of days ago, the South side Queens rapper said he was done working on the cable series Power, because it was snubbed by the Golden Globes committee for a nomination. 50 made this announcement despite the fact that his G-Unit Film and Television company had a deal extension with Starz that will allow him to work on new shows through 2018.

So far there hasn't been an official announcement by Fif about the Den of Thieves movie, but he may speak on it later since shooting is scheduled to begin on January 9 in Atlanta.
