6ix9ine has been bombarded with personal and legal issues this year, and the rapper is now reportedly making a last-ditch effort to avoid jail time.

According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper submitted a letter to the judge in his 2015 sexual misconduct case, arguing that he should receive four years of probation and attendance in a youthful offenders program as opposed to jail time.

As you may recall, 6ix9ine previously pled guilty to the use of a child in a sexual performance in 2015. He was placed on probation for two years—under which he was not allowed to be arrested again. However, Tekashi has been nabbed twice by police in 2018 alone—once for driving without a license and the alleged assault of a police officer back in May, and another time for appearing to choke a teen at a mall in Houston back in January.

A Manhattan District Attorney laid down the law, literally, on 6ix9ine last month when they argued that the rapper should be forced to serve one to three years in jail and register as a sex offender for violating the probation of his sexual misconduct case.

Clearly, Tekashi, who performed with Nicki Minaj at the 2018 Made in America Festival over the weekend, wants to avoid that in whatever way possible. His lawyer, Lance Lazzarro, is reportedly arguing that 6ix9ine's probation for the sexual misconduct case technically ended in October 2017—before the incidents in both Brooklyn and Houston.
