According to reports, Baton Rouge rap artist Lil Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch, is scheduled to be released from prison on August 18, 2014.

According to NOLA.com, a date is on record with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. But according to the agency’s communications director, Pam Laborde, once Boosie is released from prison, he will be under supervision through June 17, 2018.

Speculation on Boosie's release from prison has run rampant the past 4 years since he was incarcerated in 2009, especially here in his home state of Louisiana. There have been rumors of the rappers release scheduled to be last February, even as recent as him being released in November. To no avail, Boosie is still presently in a Louisiana State Penitentiary.

Even Rick Ross said the same thing in an interview with Power 105.1. “I’m going to put a bag on the table for that boy,” he told the Breakfast Club. “You never know.”

Back in 2009, Hatch was sentenced to jail due to a probation violation and marijuana possession. Later his sentence was extended after he plead guilty to attempting to smuggle narcotics into the prison. This added 8 years to his sentence.

Hatch also dodged more jail time when a jury acquitted him in May 2012, for the 2009 shooting death of Terry Boyd. Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding was sentenced to life without parole for Boyd's murder in July 2012.

No definite word from Boosie's camp or his lawyers have been released, but we'll keep you posted.
