Calling all Chess fans, OLQH is offering a unique way to spend your summer.  Whether you know how to play or not, OLQH Chess Camp is for players of all levels.  Camp is open to ages 7 to 14 and will offer instructional lessons on all levels of the game, including opening strategies for beginners.

If you've always wanted to learn how to play the game of Chess, this is the camp for you. However, Chess Camp is also for seasoned players to fine tune their skills.  Learn all you need to know about the game and then some!  On the first day camp instructors will teach positional motifs, endgame positions and various tactics to take down your opponent down.  On day two, you'll get an opportunity to test what you've learned as there will be a tournament complete with game analysis after each round.

Recurring daily, Chess Camp will take place Saturday July 12th - Sunday July 13th at OLQH Family Life Community Center, located at 3939 Kingston, Lake Charles.  Saturday's camp hours are 12 noon - 5 pm and Sunday's camp hours will be from 1 - 5 pm.  The cost for each camper is $30.00 and for more info call 337-474-6814.
