From dropping new singles off her forthcoming album, 'The Pink Print,' to walking the red carpet to promote 'The Other Woman,' Nicki Minaj seems to be everywhere these days.

Despite her busy schedule, she had the chance to sit down for an in-depth interview with FADER magazine, where she is the Fall Fashion issue's cover star.

Dressed head-to-toe in Jean-Paul Gaultier, Minaj is looking strong and sexy on the cover of the magazine. The Young Money rapstress carries that attitude in the rest of the photos that go along with the interivew.

Known for her candidness, she addresses a number of topics including the health issues she alluded to during her BET acceptance speech as well as proving her hip-hop credibility.

“I felt like my pop music made me have to retell my story," Minaj tells writer Carrie Battan. "My credibility as an MC -- I never thought I would have to explain that,” she says. “I thought it was so evident that I belonged here [in hip-hop]."

While Minaj is living the high life of success and fame, the 'Chi-Raq' rapper also reveals how hard it was leaving her family once she signed with Young Money.

"One day he asked my mother, ‘Do you ever think there’ll come a time we all live in the same house again, and Onika will be back and she’ll have her room, and I’ll have my room?’” she recalls. “And it just broke my heart.” Before a tear can muck up any of her makeup, Safaree Samuels, Minaj's reported boyfriend, wordlessly pops up from the couch to nab her a tissue.

Minaj continued, trying to hold back tears, "I don’t want to get emotional. I just miss them. Every time I talk about them, I get emotional.”

While we're still waiting for 'The Pink Print,' check out Nicki's interview with the FADER before the issue hits newsstands on Aug. 26.
