President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are now officially private citizens again, but couldn’t leave the White House without one last farewell message to the American people.

The now former president said “Michelle and I now rejoin all of you as private citizens,” and added "We want to thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the incredible privilege of serving this country that we love."

As the couple prepare to take a much needed break to spend time with their family, after 8 years in the white house, they invited people to visit the website for their first project when they get back from vacation. The future presidential center will be located on the south side of Chicago, “but it will have projects all over the city, country, and world,” said former president Obama. He added that it will be more than just a library or museum, but it will be "living, working center for citizenship.”

So any “ideas, hopes, and beliefs” that you might have for this center, the Obamas want to know what we’re thinking.

We miss them already!
