Today in Tha Wire, we all know that R&B singer, Keyshia Cole, has had it pretty rough growing up.  The songstress' life has played out on the radio through lyrics in her songs and reality TV over the years.  Now it's being reported that one of the biggest moments in her life recently occurred, when she met her father.  Thursday night, Cole, took to her Instagram page and told fans that after 34 years she has finally met her biological father.

The R&B diva's life has basically been an open book.  In 2006 she did a ground breaking documentary/reality series, Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, on BET.  The show documented the singers troubled childhood growing up in Oakland.  Her mother struggled with addiction, which is why the two were estranged for many years.  To give Keyshia a shot at a better life family friends, Leon and Yvonne Cole, stepped in and adopted her when she was 2.  In her reality series, the star rekindled her relationship with her biological mother, sister and extended family.  The Coles were very supportive parents, but the singer said she's always a void in her life because she never met her biological dad.  Until now.

His name is Virgil Hunter the singer revealed to her Instagram fans, proudly posting a pic of her dad. Of course a DNA test was performed and Cole said the results confirmed Mr. Hunter, is in fact her biological father.  According to reports he's got some fame himself.  As it turns out he spent most of his life as a boxing trainer and worked with several professional athletes like Michael Dallas, Andre Ward and Brandon Gonzales to name a few.

This is a pretty big moment and we are very happy for her.  Keyshia revealed she and her dad have been back in her hometown getting to know one another.  Who knows this story may land the R&B artist another reality show!

Finally, it's been 20-years since Maxwell dropped an album, but I'm happy to say that's all getting ready to change.  The sultry singer is back on the scene with a new single, "Lake By The Ocean."

This is the lead off track from his new LP, blackSUMMERS'night, which will be in stores July 1.  After two decades, Maxwell is releasing the second installment to his 2009 musical trilogy BLACKsummers'night.  On top of that he's going on a 25-date summer tour!  It jumps-off June 18, including his stop in New Orleans at Essence, July 1.
