On March 27, 26-year Reminisce Smith, best known as rapper Remy Ma, was found guilty of two charges of assault , for shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph after an argument.   Barnes-Joseph was shot twices in the stomach while the two women struggled for a gun in a car.  At time the Terror Squad femcee’s career was starting to take off, but that was short lived as the Gammy-nominated star was hit with several charges including assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion.  Had she been convicted on all charges, she would’ve been facing a maximum of 25 years.  Fortunately enough for her, she was only convicted on two and though prosecutors requested a 13-year sentence, the judge gave the rapper eight years instead.

Well after serving only six years, this morning Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg announced the Bronx femcee walked out of Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York around 8 a.m.  So lookout Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma might be coming for you in the near future.  In the meantime, Ma’s just happy to be out and upon her release was greeted by her husband Papoose and family.

With all this excitement, something could rain on Ma’s parade.  Listen to Tha Wire now to find out what that is now.  Plus, more details on Alicia Keys and celeb birthdays.
