Thursday on April 16, the Calcasieu Workforce Center (CWC) will host its Annual Youth Summit/Job Fair. The event will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. on the second and third floor of the Lake Charles Civic Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles.

 
This special job fair is specifically to connect area students and young citizens with post-secondary education and training institutions that will help them prepare and gain employment in industrial occupations.  This fair will also help young citizens to get valuable resources.  Plus several employers will be on hand to interview and accept applications for full-time, part-time, and summer employment.

The theme for this years annual Youth Summit/Job Fair is: “Got Skills? Get Work!”  The summit portion of the event will take area youth through a series of workshops, that will address things like occupations in demand here in SWLA.  The target age group for this event is young citizens between the ages of 16 to 24.  


Representatives from McNeese State University, Sowela Technical Community College, ABC, and other local schools will be present as well, to answer questions concerning specific areas of study that will put students in line to acquire high-demand occupations when they graduate.  This event is absolutely free, preregistration is required.  To do so, go to cppj.net/youthsummit.  Business attire is required, so come dressed for an interview. Last but not least bring a smile, a good attitude and several resume's!
