Last month, comedian Aries Spears was viciously punched by radio personality Zo Williams during an internet broadcast of Corey Holcomb’s 5150 show. Now Spears is fighting back but he’s doing it the legal way.

According to TMZ, Spears has filed a lawsuit against Williams and Holcomb’s internet-based radio program. The 42-year-old comedian filed the complaint today (May 2) stating that he was booked to be a comedian on the show but instead was mercilessly attacked. He claims that his injuries are so bad that it has affected his abilities to perform.

Spears reportedly has hired attorney Ben Meiselas of Geragos & Geragos to represent him in the legal case. Meiselas says Zo clearly had a propensity for violence given his conduct, and the show/station is also liable because they hired him.

Reps for Zo Williams had no comment on the matter. Corey Holcomb, who is the creator of the 5150 show, also hasn't addressed Spears' lawsuit.
