As Master P Preps The Release Of His New Album, His Wife Of 24-Years Files For Divorce

TMZ is reporting that Sonya Miller, the wife of Hip Hop icon Master P, has filed for divorce.

After 24-years of marriage, sadly it looks like things are over. Though Master P has nine kids, Sonya is seeking custody of their 4 minor children. By the way, according to reports Sonya is the one that filed the divorce papers. In addition, she is also seeking spousal support.

TMZ reports the couple split-up in 2011 and that Sonya went to court seeking child support. However, that's as far as things went until now. Reportedly, Sonya Miller and Master P have been separated for "a long time," though no official date was published.

On a much brighter note for P, he's gearing up to drop a new album, The Gift. Following several mixtapes, the rapper mogul says he’s looking to take a new era over. In a recent interview with allhiphop.com P said of his new music, “As I get better with time, the man upstairs has blessed me and continues to give me the inspiration to share my talents or should I say my gift with my current and new fan base of music consumers of all ages and ethnic  backgrounds across the world.”

P said in addition, he planned on giving out actual gifts through a toy drive in conjunction with the release of the album adding, “With the holidays approaching and the economy being the way it is, many families will be unable to buy gifts for their loved ones and that’s why I want to give everyone The Gift.

Most importantly, I will be able to use my gift of music to help give back to underprivileged kids in many communities, and give them a chance to receive Christmas gifts that they would normally not be able to afford. It is my hope that this will encourage other artists to join me in this movement.”

On top of that, Master P said he will personally sign every physical copy of The Gift and that one special copy of the LP will contain some serious dough. Believe it or not, a $10,000 lottery ticket will be raffle off on December 23 and one lucky fan will get the money just in time for Christmas.

The Gift by Master P will be in stores December 6th.
