Chance
Chancelly “Chance” Michelle James was born on Sept. 27, 1986 to Patricia James and Joseph Nedie. She was raised in the small town of St. Martinville, La. By age 7, Chance began competing in the All-American Jr. Miss Louisiana pageants. She continued on to compete in the All-American Miss Pre Teen, Teen, and Miss Pageants. Chance graduated from St. Martinville Sr. High School in 2004, and that fall, she entered her freshman year at McNeese State majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. In 2006, during the second semester of her sophomore year, Chance accepted an intern position at Apex Broadcasting as part-time radio DJ and board operator. She was later offered an opportunity to have her own on-air segment that aired on Saturdays from 7-10 p.m. and on Sundays from 3-6 p.m. Chance graduated from McNeese State in 2009 with a BS in Mass Comm. In 2010, Chance entered grad school with intentions to receive a Masters in Business Administration. While receiving her masters, Chance landed a part-time job as a teller at Capital One bank. She continued to manage raising a child, attending school and working two jobs. Chance graduated from University of Phoenix on February 12, 2012 with a Master’s in Business Administration. Going six years strong, Chance now holds the 107 JAMZ title as “Queen of the Weekends.” She is also a full-time relationship banker at Capital One bank, obtaining the position as one of the top 5 bankers in the district.
