I was born in Gulfport, Miss., and am the oldest male of a family with five kids. I am a military brat and no stranger to moving. My dad is from Louisiana and I learned the Louisiana lifestyle at an early age. I have been married to Sandy for over 25 years and have one son and one daughter. I moved to Lake Charles in 1984 and spent five years at Bayou 104, then 11 years at LA 99 and two years at KQ-98. I also worked for Clear Channel in Beaumont, KQIS in Lafayette and Citadel Broadcasting in Baton Rouge. Most of my career has been spent along the Gulf Coast. I have worked on the air through seven hurricanes and an ice storm. I was very humbled when awarded the Allstate Insurance Good Hands Award for my efforts with the Clear Channel Beaumont team while covering Hurricane Rita. Only seven non-insurance agents have ever received that award. I love to fish (and have my secret spots in the lake and river system) and I'm a big baseball and football fan. I coached Little League Baseball for 10 years, and kids’ basketball for two years, producing a 22-0 championship team! I'm very glad to be back in Lake Charles, working with long-time friends.

Saints Sign New Safety
The Saints need three more wins to get their second Superbowl ring. Those wins will have to come against the NFL's best teams and will require a stout defense. There is still no word on whether Keenan Lewis will be a part of that defense. The Saints did however sign another safety to the roster for the playoff run.

Fire At Axiall Results in Shelter in Place and Shuts Down I-10 in Westlake
At about 1:45 this afternoon we started getting calls from listeners about a possible fire at a plant in Westlake. We could see the smoke being blown to the north from our studios on the lakefront in Lake Charles. We were informed by the Office of Emergency Management that there had been a fire at Axiall (the old PPG) and that there had been a hydrochloric acid release.
