Les Miles Named AP Coach Of The Year–Sports Minute [AUDIO]
Head coach of the LSU Tigers football program Les Miles, has been named the 2011 Associated Press Coach of the Year.
Les received 30 of the 56 votes to win the honor. Bill Snyder of Kansas State was second with 16, Mike Gundy of Oklahoma State was third with six.
Miles has led the LSU Tigers to a 13-0 record and a birth in the national championship game on January 9th in New Orleans against Alabam
UPDATE 10:10 a.m. — DeQuincy Hit By Possible Tornado — Hospital Damaged, Multiple Power Outages
UPDATE 10:10 a.m. — DeQuincy Memorial representatives confirmed that they are evacuating some patients to Vinton after a portion of the roof was blown off the facility. The hospital, however, is still open and receiving patients as needed.

The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns football team are headed to their first college football bowl in some time.
When the Ragin’ Cajuns take the field for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, it will be the first postseason contest for Louisiana-Lafayette as an FBS member, and it will be only the third bowl game at any level in school history.

Leesville To Hold Christmas Parade For Redeployed Soldiers
The city of Leesville Louisiana will be holding their “I’ll be Home for Christmas” parade for redeployed soldiers from Fort Polk.
It will be the largest military parade in the city since 1943 and it all happens this Saturday Dec. 10th. Here are all the details:

The McNeese Cowboys baseball team and head coach Terry Burrows have released their 2012 schedule and immediately one game in particular stood out.
The Cowboys will host the LSU Tigers in Lake Charles at Cowboys Diamond for the first time since 1998.
Lake Charles Gets Ready to ‘Light Up The Lake’
It’s time to light up the lakefront in Lake Charles, and it all happens Saturday, Dec. 3.
The City of Lake Charles will hold its annual Christmas parade and lighting up of the lakefront. They plan on having a street parade, lighting up the front of the Civic center, holding a boat parade that night and finishing off the night with a fireworks show.
