Baton Rouge Teen Hit in the Knee in Colorado Movie Theater Shooting

WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge is reporting that one of the victims of the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting is a Baton Rouge teenager.

Bonnie Kate Pourciau, 18, took a bullet to the knee during 24-year-old James Holmes’ shooting rampage.  Another Baton Rouge teen and a friend of Pourciau’s, Elizabeth Sumrall, was also in the theater, but was not wounded.

The victim’s mother, Kathleen Pourciau, wrote on her Facebook wall about the incident just before 7 a.m. Friday.  “Bonnie Kate was shot last night in her leg in a theater in Aurora, Colorado,” she wrote.  “She is at the hospital now in Denver and will be going into surgery soon.  Many people were killed.  Please pray for her and the others who were hurt and their families.”
