CNN reports legendary soul singer Ben E. King, whose best known for his classic hit "Stand By Me", has died.  King's booking agent, Randy Irwin told the news network the singer died Thursday in New Jersey of natural causes, he was 76.

Born Benjamin Earl Nelson in North Carolina, King first found success as one of the early members of the Drifters.  Throughout his career King had 12 hits, but he will forever be known for "Stand By Me," which first cracked the top 10 hit in the U.S. in 1961.  Amazingly enough in 1986, nearly 25-years later, the song returned to the charts when it was featured in the movie "Stand By Me."

Ben E. King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a Drifter and has also been nominated as a solo artist. He will live forever through his music.  We offer our condolences to his family and friends.

Finally, ABC reports the family and friends of the Baltimore man who died while in police custody will get justice.  Freddie Gray’s death has been ruled a homicide.  State attorney, Marilyn Mosby said she will pursue criminal charges against all six police officers involved in his death.

The charges will vary for each officer, however they will be severe including manslaughter, second degree assault, misconduct in office and false imprisonment. ABC reports one officer will face second degree depraved heart murder, the most serious charge of them all.  That said a warrant was issued for all six officer’s arrest.
