According to AllHipHop, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream are openly supporting people of color along with the ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ campaign. You can bet your bottom dollar it’s stirred up quite a bit of controversy.

The statement below was posted to Facebook:

“Our scoop shop managers got to meet THE Ben and Jerry at the annual franchisee/manager retreat! Stay tune to see how our shop will implement Ben’s take on “hands up don’t shoot” campaign to address police brutality and empower children of color.”

Ben Cohen talked directly about about #BlackLivesMatter at the Ben & Jerry’s Franchisee Meeting, name checking John Crawford, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner and more. See it below.

Some of the comments left on the post are ridiculously racist, misinformed, and tremendously one-sided. Of course, just like all of them I have an opinion as well, but we’re not getting into that today. Read some of the comments for yourself and weigh in on the founders of Ben & Jerry's decision to support people of color and the ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ campaign.

What do we learn from all of this? No matter what we do in life, we will never please everyone. *shrugs*
