    "Any Means"

MC Eiht and Spice 1 (Produced by The Alchemist)

Names like Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, and YG may be leading the charge for the re-emergence of the West Coast as a superpower in rap, but it was a pair of California O.G.'s that were responsible for this dope song. MC Eiht and Spice 1 join forces on "Any Means," a joint from producer The Alchemist as part of his ongoing "Craft Singles" 7-inch vinyl series. It's a triumphant song with horns aplenty and tumbling drums laying the foundation for MC Eiht and Spice 1's rap attack. Both artists come equipped with steady bars and annihilate the track while proving that old dogs can still turn lyrical tricks when tossed a proper bone on "Any Means," one of the more potent loosies to come our way this week.

    "Get My S--- Together"

    Big Sean Featuring Jhene Aiko

At the age 28, Big Sean has evolved from an aspiring rapper into one of hip-hop's most successful young rap talents. In celebration of his birthday, the Detroit native unleashed a new banger called "Get My S--- Together." Teaming up with Jhene Aiko, who also rides shotgun on her and Sean Don's collaborative mixtape, TWENTY88, Big Sean reflects on life and his laundry list of goals. "I guess I gotta get my s--- together / I guess, I gotta get it / I guess it's do or die now huh / I guess I'm at the age that I can't try now huh / I guess, I guess, I guess so," he raps. "Get My S--- Together" features Big Sean at the top of his game as a lyricist and is one of the most noteworthy heaters of the past week.

    "Sunday Shoes"

    CeeLo Green

"I remember stealing peppermints out of my momma's purse," CeeLo Green belts out on his latest release, "Sunday Shoes," a soulful tune centered around the singer's days as a church-going kid. Featuring live instrumentation, including horns, drums and keys, the beat is a plush and is tailor-made for Green's distinct vocals. Recalling the words of his grandmother with lines like "Don't make me sad and make God mad / He's only gonna choose a few / You better wake up / Cause you're wearing your Sunday shoes," and giving an impassioned testimonial, the rhymer-turned-vocalist offers up a heaping of food for thought on "Sunday Shoes."
