After 14 years on BET, it’s all over for 106 & Park.  The network announced it was pulling the plug on the long running show, in favor of a digital only format, according to AllHipHop.  Here's a look back at some of the hottest shows.

BET’s iconic countdown show first aired in 2000, giving a real platform for new Hip Hop & R&B music and videos to be highlighted.  The show’s original hosts were AJ and Free and together they did more than just interview the hottest artists and introduce videos.  They put urban fashion on front street, as well as dealt with social, economic and political issues effecting urban communities and much more.   Over the years the shows hosting duties changed hands from Big Tigger & Julissa, Terrence J & Rocsi Diaz, to currant hosts Miss Mykie, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante.

BET released a statement to explain why their taking the show off the air and how they plan to keep it’s long running popularity going in the digital world.  Listen to Tha Wire below and find out when the last 106 & Park will air on BET.

BET’s President of Music Programming & Specials, Stephen Hill, released the following statement:

“AJ accepting Janet Jackson’s challenge to…dance. Bow Wow laying that kiss on Tyra Banks (or was it the other way around?). Free crawling around the set LIKE Catwoman WITH Catwoman Halle Berry. Julissa’s taking over Halloween as “Wonder Woman”. Keshia brilliantly bonding with First Lady Michelle Obama. Paigion flying around the world with Rihanna on a 777. Rocsi salsa dancing with Victor Cruz and putting him to shame. Shorty and Ms. Mykie’s killer rap “The History of Justin Timberlake”, visibly thrilling JT himself. Terrence on the beat boxing while Jamie Foxx rhymed. Tigger making Tom Cruise do the of-the-moment “motorcycle dance.”

It’s been a great 14 year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable. And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most; online. It’ll be very exciting to connect with the millions of people that are already engaged with 106 & Park and other BET digital and social media entities and bring content that will further evolve the 106 & Park brand…and enhance the overall BET Networks brand. As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue 106 & Park’s role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture. We’ll have more information to share about how that is to roll out very soon.”

Finally, TheBoomBox revealed a few days ago, that R&B singer Ginuwine is going through it.  Sadly the singer is bracing for a divorce from his wife of 11-years, former rapper Solé.  The two are reportedly calling it quits and recently, the singer took to Instagram to try and clear up a few rumors.

In the post, that’s since been deleted, Ginuwine takes responsibility for their split and said he’s working on a few self- improvements. Ginuwine wrote:

“We are not yet divorced, but we are currently separated and working towards coming to our own agreement, without lawyers, to amicably and fairly divorce. Reports that she left me broke are untrue. She has been a good wife and mother and my poor choices and actions over many years have led to this. I am on a path of becoming a better man, and part of that is taking responsibility for my own choices and behavior in life.”

I wish I could say that's where his problems end, but they've only just begun.  For even more details on that, listen to Tha Wire now.  Plus, get the scoop on what celebs are celebrating birthday's today.
