Long before he was The Notorious B.I.G., Christopher Wallace honed his rap skills on 226 St. James Place.  Now the Brooklyn apartment the late Biggie Smalls grew-up in is up for sale.

Back in 2004, Biggie's crib sold for $300 thousand and now it's listed for $725 grand.  On top of the fact that the home is of Hip-Hop historic value, the reason for the price hike is because the elderly couple living in the Clinton Hill apartment have renovated the property extensively.

Because this was Biggies childhood home, it has become quit the tourist attraction.  This could be a good or bad thing in getting the home sold said the Realtor.  According to listing agent Judith Lief, there’s no way to tell if the Biggie connection will affect the sale. ”The tour buses that come by regularly are enough.  I don’t really know yet what impact, if any, [Biggie's looming presence] will have on the sale. I think it’ll be notable, but I don’t know if novelty translates to a purchase.”

However, the home is in a prime location, being close to subway stops, shops and restaurants.  The 972-square-foot unit features three bedrooms, one bathroom, a den, a basement laundry room, an office, hardwood floors and granite counter tops.
