Birdman says Lil Wayne has the masters for Tha Carter V, but we don’t think that’s Weezy's main issue with Cash Money Records.

According to TMZ, a source close to Birdman is saying that the Cash Money boss couldn’t release Tha Carter V if he wanted to, because Weezy has the physical master recording. The source also said that Wayne is willing, but refuses to hand the masters over until the money issues between himself, Birdman, and Cash Money are resolved. Also, don’t expect him to ever leak the album. He’s seriously about getting his money out of the project.

Wayne just wants to be paid what he’s owed by the label. No money, no music. That simple.

In the original lawsuit filed by Lil Wayne, he also claimed he was owed $8 million in advance for the held up album, and $2 million upon the album completion. Let’s not forget money he’s owed for the sales of his Young Money artists, and more. Can we pay the man already?

In a nutshell, money is what’s holding the release of the highly anticipated Tha Carter V. The business isn’t right, so I wouldn’t hand it over either if I were Lil Wayne. Let’s hope they get this rectified soon. We’re not ready for Weezy to retire.
