Birdman Facing Lawsuit for “Respek” Merchandise

Birdman’s infamous The Breakfast Club interview is one of the highlight of 2016, so far. He’s since claimed to have earned thousands of dollars from merchandising from the catch phrase “Put some respek (respect) on my name,” and now his use of “Respek” has him facing legal action from a man who claims he owns the trademark.

According to TMZ.com, the owner of a clothing company, someone named JV, is claiming he gained ownership of the trademark for ”Respek” in 2005.

JV is threatening to sue Birdman if he doesn’t hand over a portion of what he’s earned from the merchandise.
