Bobby Brown is getting his own biopic on BET, and actor Woody McClain from the New Edition biopic is reprising his role as the R&B star.

The New Edition biopic was big when it dropped this year, and BET is now following through on their plans of giving us more with a two-part miniseries "The Bobby Brown Story," written by Abdul Willams and executive produced by Jesse Collins, said Deadline.

The Bobby Brown Story will pick up where the New Edition mini left off. It will chronicle the talented but troubled singer’s exit from the popular ’80s boy band through his solo success, his affair with Janet Jackson and tabloid-fodder marriage to pop icon Whitney Houston. Spanning 30 years of Brown’s life, the new project follows his story from the hard streets of Roxbury, where he turned to a life of drug dealing before being given the chance to prove himself as a solo artist.

With Woody McClain reprising his role, casting has begun to fill the roles of Babyface, Janet Jackson, L.A. Reid, Teddy Riley, and his late daughter and ex-wife, Bobby Kristina Brown and Whitney Houston.

During its premiere week, "The New Edition" story reportedly brought in 29 million total viewers. If we had to guess, "The Bobby Brown Story" will do major numbers as well, maybe even surpassing those of the groups' biopic.
