Because people are jerks, LSU joined a growing list of colleges who have had to respond to bomb threats in the past few weeks.

The evacuation alert was sent at around 11:30 a.m. this morning, according to USA Today. As you can imagine, traffic in Baton Rouge immediately turned into a nightmare (imagine the end of a Tigers football game).

The call came into East Baton Rouge Parish's 911 system, but no official word has surfaced over whether or not police have yet tracked the call.

LSU authorities said they couldn’t estimate how many of the university’s roughly 29,000 students and 3,000 faculty and staff were on campus when the evacuation started.

Sophomore Ainsley Stieb said she waited for about 30 minutes to get on a bus before getting a phone call from a friend offering her a ride.

The previous bomb threats in Texas, North Dakota and Ohio were all false alarms.
