Boxing legend Hector "Macho" Camacho was shot in a drive by in Puerto Rico Tuesday night.  To make matters worse while in wrought to the San Juan hospital, Camacho went into cardiac arrest.

The boxing legend at last word is in critical but stable condition.  According to reports Camacho was a passenger in a Ford Mustang when the shooting happened at about 7pm in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. A car rolled up beside them and opened fire into the vehicle.  The driver of Camacho's car was killed in the attack. Camacho was struck several times in the neck and face and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to doctors, Camacho's injuries are extensive.  One of the bullets hit him in the jaw and exited out the back of his head and later lodged itself in his right shoulder. The possibility of him being paralyzed is good because two of his vertebrae were damaged.  Centro Medico director Dr. Ernesto Torres told reporters this morning, “The situation with ‘Macho’ is very delicate.  The prognosis is not good.  He went into cardiac arrest. The doctors were able to get his heart started again with the medicine and we are maintaining his blood pressure and pulse stable medically right now to see whether during this morning, afternoon or evening we see a positive change.”

Police are trying to find out whether this was a random act of violence or an intentional hit. The shooting is currently under investigation and as of now no arrests have been made.
