Contrary to popular belief, this will be the 33-year old songbirds first marriage.  Though during their reality show Brandy said she married her then boyfriend/manager Robert Smith, the two were never married.  However they do share a beautiful 10-year old daughter Sy'ra.

According to Us Weekly, a source close to Brandy said of the engagement,  “They are thrilled and happy and Brandy feels this is so right.”   It's no secret that the two have only had eyes for one another from the very beginning they've been in total bliss.  While sitting down with Siter2Sisters Jamie Foster Brown in August, Brandy admitting that she was more than ready for marriage saying, "I keep hearing about a ring. People keep calling me, hinting to me about it, but I don’t know.  I’m going to be patient and let it happen and just let it be… I guess it will happen when it’s the right time.”

More recently the subject of love and marriage came up again when she sat down with Us Weekly.  Brandy said of love and her new fiance', “I had given up on love a long time ago. It just didn’t seem to work for me, so I was single for a very long time.  “He just loves me for who I am. I don’t have to camouflage anything for him or put on a mask. I can completely be myself and he loves me so much and I love him just the way he is, too.”

That's what love is all about.  Congrats to the lovely couple we wish them a happy engagement and an even happier marriage.

By the way, 2012 marked Brandy's return to music.  It had been four years since she'd dropped anything new, but this past October, she gave her fans what they'd been waiting for, her sixth studio album "Two Eleven".  The lead off singly was the funky track "Put It Down" with Chris Brown and here's the video for her latest singles "How High" and "Wildest Dreams".
