British Man Sentenced To Jail After Claiming To Be Nicki Minaj

Today in Tha Wire, this has gotta be one of the craziest stories I've heard thus far but... AllHipHop reports a British man was recently arrested after claiming to be Nicki Minaj. Stephen Brown was obviously confused when he called into his local emergency dispatch with an outrageous and bogus claim.

For starters, it's not the first time Brown has placed hysterical calls into emergency services. As it turns out the New York Daily News reports, the 24-year old man has a record of placing these type of calls. In fact he's complained about a wide variety of things including, ghosts being in his home. Authorities say he's made several calls about men trying to kill him as well.

Not quite sure what made him say he was Nicki Minaj, but no one was laughing when authorities responded to the call. Once it was determined Brown had placed another bogus call, he was arrested and has been sentenced to four months in jail. In addition, he's been charged with breaking an Anti-Social Behavior Order that banned him from calling emergency systems in his area.

The Judge handling the case, Desmond Marrinan, described Brown as a “nuisance” and made it clear that his repeated calls will not going to be tolerated any longer. Judge Marrinan warned the authorities have had enough and that Browns bogus calls were preventing police from dealing with real emergencies. Hoping to teach a lesson, the judge order him to spend a little time in jail.

Browns defense attorney, Aaron Thompson, seems to be at his wits end and said his client is a “chronic alcoholic.” adding he's “his own worst enemy.” It's being reported Brown place two calls to emergency dispatch. During the first he claimed two men were making threats to kill him, but was too drunk to give more details. The second time he called in, he said he wanted to cancel the first call, claimed to be star Minaj, and said adding there was a poltergeist in his house.
