Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Report A Shooting At Moss Bluff Elementary

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) reports there was a shooting at Moss Bluff Elementary School. The shooting occurred early this morning in a classroom.  According to CPSO dispatch was called out to the school, in which a 7-year old child has been shot. The child was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital, and their condition is unknown at this time.

No word on whether the child was shot by another student, or shot himself.   The incident is currently in the preliminary stages of the investigation.  However, it has been determined this is an isolated incident and the shooting was accidental.  No other students were harmed, and the situation is under control.
