Today around 1:15 pm the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office got a call from the Shreveport Police Department notifying them to be on the lookout for a silver 2012 Nissan Armada that had been stolen with a baby inside from a local Burger King. According to KSLA News reporter, Stacey Cameron, the child was an 8-month-old little girl. He was at the scene minutes after the incident occurred and was even able to the child's cousin who was operating the vehicle at the time it was jacked.

Javorius Marshall overcome with relief, told Cameron his baby cousin had just fallen asleep in the back seat and he didn't want to wake her up. Marshall made a major mistake many guardians make, by leaving the unattended baby in the running SUV while going into a store. Marshall explained he ran into the burger joint (6700 block of Pines Road) real quick, but no sooner did he enter the restaurant than someone had jumped in the vehicle and was driving off in the vehicle.

Thank God through all of that, the baby was okay and the SUV was recovered as well aproxomantly 6 miles from where it was stolen. Ironically there were already two deputies in the area working an accident when the alert came in about the stolen SUV. Deputies Kouns and Shrevepark were able to stop the vehicle at which time the male suspect jumped out of the vehicle and took off running. However, two citizens ran him down, tackled him, and subdued him until the police arrived on the scene and took him in custody.

The best news of the days is that Marshall's little cousin was not harmed, that she has been reunited with her parents and the car thief is locked up.
