What if I told you a new car is coming out that's small enough for you to carry in a bag? What if this new car only weighed 4.4 to 6.6 pounds, could carry up to 265 pounds and travel at 6.2 miles per hour, for a distance of roughly 7 miles on a single battery charge? Well believe it or not, researchers at Cocoa Motors in Japan have made such a car!

I never thought I'd see the day, but they call it the WalkCar.  Check out the video below and see how the worlds tiniest car can fit in your purse or briefcase.

Pretty amazing right?  Kuniako Saito is the genus that came up with this amazing new form of transportation. During his interview with Reuters, Saito explained this new wave of the future is easy to use, because it starts up as soon as you step on it.  Meaning, you don't even need keys or a steering wheel!  The Japanese engineer told Reuters, revealed he got the idea from studying the electric car motor control systems saying,

“I thought, “what if we could just carry our transportation in our bags, wouldn’t that mean we’d always have our transportation with us to ride on?” and my friend asked me to make one, since I was doing my masters in engineering specifically on electric car motor control systems."

he told Reuters.  "Maybe I just see it that way, but it seems to me that the U.S. is always the one which invents new products and Japan is the one which takes those products and improves on them to make a better version of it. But here in this case, the WalkCar is a totally new product I have started from scratch. So I also I want to show the world that Japan can also be innovative."

If your interested in getting your very own WalkCar, you can actually reserve one this Autumn.  Saito says all customers need to do is go the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. Just so you know the futuristic skateboard/hoverboard is priced at $800 and is expected to be officially introduced to world in the Spring of 2016.

Is this something you would buy?  Let me know what you think and give us your feedback.
