Since the beginning of the year actor/director Donald Glover, a.k.a. rapper/singer Childish Gambino has been on a heck of a run. Back in January the multi-faceted entertainer brought home several Golden Globe Awards for his television series Atlanta, where he also thanked The Migos for making “Bad and Boujee.” Did that ever help catapult them to number on the charts!

Gambino’s latest achievement for 2017 is now the success of his latest single “Redbone" from his 2016 album Awaken, My Love, which has become a highly charted song earning platinum status from the RIAA.

The 70’s Funk inspired “Redbone” has sold one million times as of May 1.  I’m sure that Jordan Peele’s "Get Out" also gave it an extra boost in sales seeing how the song is featured in the blockbuster film. But this isn’t Gambino’s first time earning a platinum single, as his first was “Heartbeat” from his debut album Camp, and his second platinum single with “3005” from his second album  Because the Internet.

Congrats!
