On May 1, 2017 Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino's "Redbone" was certified platinum by the RIAA, now in just less than three months, the smash hit is certified double platinum.

"Redbone" comes from Gambino's 2016 album Awaken, My Love, Love. The song peaked at number 14 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and it's been on the charts for 31 consecutive weeks.  Just another notch on his belt in addition to taking home several Golden Globe Awards for his FX television series Atlanta, and having the single featured in the hit film "Get Out." Not bad, eh?

Expect one more album from Donald Glover under the Childish Gambino moniker, as he will discontinue the use of the name going forward to keep his punk appeal. The actor/rapper appears in the new Spider-Man Homecoming movie, so he's showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
