Common was one of the many Americans watching last night's (Sept. 26) presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The Chicago rapper got to share his thoughts on the debate during an appearance on The View.

"Donald Trump is just not prepared to be a president," Common said. "He's not that type of person that should be a president. And I thought from Hillary Clinton, I could see her experience. I was really like a virgin watching the debate cause I'd never watched the Democratic debate or the Republican debate.

Common came away from the debate with a clear understanding of who he was going to vote for in the election. He also felt worried about the fact Donald Trump had any supporters at all.

"I really got to see why Hillary Clinton is a better candidate," Common said. "I mean, I obviously knew [Hillary was better, but to hear him just say phrases like law and order and make America great again. And [he did] not have any ideas about policies and never said anything concrete where me as someone coming in for the first time could really try to see what his perspective is. It just revealed everything. It made me sad about America that we do have people that really believing in what he's saying. Cause what is he saying?"

Common also touched on the racial issues that are plaguing the country. The injustice facing Black citizens has been major topic in Common's new music.
