The Mcneese Cowgirls have been have a pretty good season and although they didn't win the championship. The young ladies are holding there own and have alot to be proud of. Well the young lady who has been very instrumental in making that happen, Coach Brooks Donald Williams is leaving to take her talents elsewhere.

According to the American Press, Williams will be taking on an assistant coaching job at Alabama under mentor Kristy Curry. Although she has been coaching at Mcneese for the past 9 years, she is extremely excited about her move.

“I think I thought I would only leave for a head coaching job (originally). Sometimes we have a plan and sometimes that changes,” Donald Williams said. “I think right now the trend is for the hiring of (Power 5) assistants. Years ago it swung the other way.
“When I was so young, I was very excited about the opportunity to be a head coach. I will be again one day. But this is a great opportunity for me to get a piece on my resume I skipped over in my 20s, and did so with good reason.”

While this is sad news for Mcneese, the hunt will soon be on for her successor and hopefully the will is strong to continue to winning spirit.
