CPSO Is Joining the ‘Click It or Ticket’ Campaign

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) will be participating in the latest national “Click It or Ticket” campaign, Monday, May 22, thru June 4, as they continue their efforts to make sure drivers in SWLA are wearing their seat belt.

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission sponsored “Click It or Ticket” campaign comes just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, so expect and increase in officers on the roads, as well as more checkpoint aimed at “targeting people not wearing their seat belt,” said a CPSO press release.

"In 2015 seat belts saved an estimated 13,941 lives. An additional 2,814 could have been spared if they had been wearing their seat belts,” something Sheriff Tony Mancuso says has been the reason "for increased enforcement and awareness of seat belt use."
