According to CPSO spokesperson Kim Myers, a Lake Charles man was arrested for taking   a co-workers expensive wheels and selling them for scrap metal.

On September 28 the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate the theft of four 18” wheels. When detectives met with the victim, he stated that he took the wheels, which are valued at $3,600, off of his truck and put them in the shop where he is employed to store them. — CPSO Press Release

Detectives with CPSO spoke with the victim’s co-worker, 37-year-old John G. Willis, of Lake Charles, who was being housed in the Calcasieu Correctional Center from a previous charge of theft. Willis told detectives he stole the wheels and sold them for scrap metal, said Kim Myers.

Willlis’s bond was set at $5,000 for the charge of theft of $1500 or more, but his total bond is now $11,000.
