DMX was arrested last night (August 20th) in South Carolina for possession of marijuana.

A according to TMZ, X was pulled over by police for an illegal U-turn being made by the vehicle DMX was in.   The police claim to have smelled Marijuana on the rapper and that invoked a search in which police found marijuana in the arm rest, and three bags of marijuana under the car’s floor board.

TMZ is also reporting that DMX suffered a mild asthma attack shortly after the incident and it was bad enough for paramedics to be called to the scene.  However, DMX is said to be OK now.

Meanwhile, his publicist contacted AllHipHop and issued a statement refuting drug claims, alleging that DMX had no knowledge of any marijuana in the vehicle he was in:

DMX was driving in the passenger seat when the vehicle he was in was pulled over last night. Although officers pulled them over for a minor traffic violation, DMX was asked to step outside so they can search the vehicle. Officers then claimed that they found bags of marijuana in the floorboard and arrested X. No drugs were found on DMX or the other passengers and the alleged bags of marijuana were never shown to DMX or the other passengers. DMX was released this morning at approximately 11am EST and is back at his home in South Carolina.

Finally, Gucci Mane’s request for community service has been denied, based on the rappers prior record of assault.  According to reports, a Fulton County judge isn't trying to give the rapper a break and denied Gucci’s request to do community service after his latest arrest for assault.

In April, Gucci, who’s real name is Radric Davis, was holding a mixtape release party for his latest project ‘Trilogy’, when he assaulted a fan at a nightclub. James Lettley, who serves in the military, told police that Gucci hit him with a bottle after he asked the rapper for a picture.   The fan claimed the rapper went berserk on him for no reason.  This is not the first time the rapper has assaulted a fan.  Here's more details:
