Donald Sterling NBA Saga Continues & The Drake VS Lil Wayne Tour Details [VIDEO]
The drama between Donald Sterling, his wife, the NBA and the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers continues. Plus, YMCMB fans got something extra to be excited about as the Drake VS Lil Wayne Tour nears. Get the scoop now with Tha Wire.
The saga involving the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers and Donald Sterling continued in a courtroom this week. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Donald Sterling and his estranged wife Shelly Sterling are in the midst of a bitter legal battle over whether not she had the authority to sell the NBA team.
Sterling took the stand on Tuesday and accused his wife of misleading him about why he needed to take mental health exams in May. Apparently the results were used to determine his ability to be involved in the Sterling Family Trust. During his testimony Sterling said, “I trusted my wife. I relied on her. I love her… Those two doctors should not be practicing medicine, you know it and I know it.” He went on to tell Shelly’s lawyer Bert Fields, “You told [the doctors] to find something wrong so we can sell the team.”
Sterling also accused one of the doctors of being intoxicated at the time of the exam, sighting she was a heavy drinker due to debts from a divorce. Parts of Sterling’s bizarre testimony also included him telling his wife’s attorney to “be a man,” arguing his wife “can’t run anything” and don’t have his level of experience. “What do you think I’m doing this for, ego?” To which the attorney responded, “Yes.”
In the meantime, NBA owners are supposed to vote on a proposed sale of the Clippers to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer this month. For more details about that, listen to Tha Wire below. Plus, get more info about what the NBA plans to do if the Sterling vs Sterling dispute can't be resolved.
