Hip-hop fans have been awaiting Dr. Dre's Detox album for more than a decade now, and it looks like the project has a chance of seeing the light of day.

Despite telling fans that the anticipated album had been scrapped, resulting in him dropping his Compton LP in 2015, the super producer is reportedly still working on the collective. According to a tweet from reporter Chris Haynes from ESPN, Dre is "working on a couple of songs right now" that could be on the album if he decides to go through with releasing it at some point.

"I asked Dr. Dre if Detox is permanently shelved and he replied, 'I’m working on a couple songs right now. We’ll see,'" Haynes' tweet reads.

If you recall, the Beats founder originally scrapped Detox after years of working on the project with multiple artists and producers after he wasn't "feeling it" anymore. He originally stated that he had about 20 to 40 songs for the album, but none of them were released.

It looks like we may be able to get our ears on the project if all works in Dre's favor, but we shouldn't hold our breath that it will release any time soon.
