This past weekend, social media went into a frenzy when photos surfaced of Drake and Tory Lanez hanging out together and posing in a friendly fashion. While it certainly blindsided fans, who have been keeping up with their longtime beef over the past few years, many are trying to get to the bottom of how the two made up.

According to TMZ, the two Toronto artists were able to squash their beef thanks to a simple phone call that took place a week before the recent photos were taken and posted by both Drake and Lanez. A source tells TMZ the two had mutual friends who "got in their ears about the pettiness" of their issues. The source says one of Tory's friends connected with one of Drizzy's, leading to them finally having the conversation to work out their differences. The two finally met up in New York City this past week, where they took the photo together to officially deem their beef squashed for the sake of their home city.

It's definitely great news that the two have made up after taking shots at one another over the years, but fans are mostly hoping this means some joint music from them in the future. As of now, Tory is on the road with Future for his Nobody's Safe tour, and being that Drizzy is close with the "Mask Off" rapper, he might make an appearance at some stops. Things are looking up for the "Luv" singer, as his gun charges were also recently dropped.
