Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ Gets No Grammy Nominations? -Tha Wire [VIDEO]

Today in Tha Wire there's no question about it, Drake has been on fire all year.  The Young Money MC has delivered a steady stream of hits, even in the mists of a very public beef with Meek Mill.  Yet one of his biggest hits of the year, “Hotline Bling,” didn't get a single nomination from this years Grammy committee.

The track hit #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop, Rhythmic and UK R&B charts and #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 charts.  So what's the deal?  Did Drake get snubbed by the Grammy's?

The answer is NO!  AllHipHop reports Cash Money Records didn't summit the song!!!  As crazy as it sounds,  Drake's label is the reason why he wont get a Grammy for one of biggest Hip Hop songs of the year.  Apparently Cash Money dropped the ball due to a "clerical error."  WTF????  Killing part is, had the single been entered properly it would've received several nods to possibly even winning the big prize.

As devastating as that's gotta be for Drake, because he was on fire all year he's got plenty of other singles that did get nods.  The OVO founder is up for nods in the Best Rap Album category for If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Best Rap Song for "Energy”, and Best Rap Performance for “Back To Back.”  Not to mention competing against himself, with label mate Nicki Minaj, in the same category for “Truffle Butter” and a final nod for the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration on Nicki’s “Only.”

Lastly, HipHollywood a couple of weeks ago Lil Boosie posted and then deleted, an Instagram message saying he was diagnosed with cancer.  It was pretty shocking. The brief revealtion was all fans had to go on till today (Wednesday December 9, 2015.)

Out of nowhere the rapper returned, confirming he had cancer and had to undergo surgery recently.  Thankfully, all went well as he referred to himself as a “#CancerSurvivor.”  Still very little is known, but we are absolutely praying for his speedy and continued recovery.
