If you live in Allen, Beauregard, Cameron, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis and Vernon parishes, early voting for the Dec. 6th election begins Sat. Nov. 22nd through Nov.29th.

In Calcasieu Parish voters can cast their ballots at the Registrar of Voters Office; Lake Charles at the parish courthouse, 1000 Ryan St.; Sulphur at  the West Calcasieu Business Center, 500 N. Huntington St. and in Moss Bluff at the Library, 261 Parish Road.  Voting hours are 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, except on Sunday and Nov. 23rd, 27th and 28th.

Cameron Parish residents can vote at 148 Smith Circle West Annex, next to the parish courthouse.  Voters only need a valid driver’s license, a Louisiana special ID or picture ID.

NOTE - If you are elderly (65 or older), disabled or need assistance to vote and have previously voted in the parish, you can apply for the Disability Program.   All you need to do is request an "absentee-by-mail/mail in ballot" and indicate that you are are a senior citizen on the application.  To apply, you can call the Registrar of Voters office 337-721-4000 and make the request, apply online or download an application at www.GeauxVote.com.  Keep in mind, if you download an app you must mail it to your parish registrar of voters office.  For more details on assisted voting, disabled or senior voters click here.

Members of the military and college students may also request a "absentee-by-mail/mail in ballot."  Check with the Registrar of Voters office for details and deadlines.

In Southwest Louisiana, the ballot will include the Louisiana Senate runoff between Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu and Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy as well as the 3rd Congressional District seat between Charles Boustany and Jeff Landry.

Allen Parish will have a runoff for District 3 school board seat and Oakdale will vote for a mayor.  Vernon Parish voters will be asked to approve an additional homestead exemption for certain disabled veterans and surviving spouses.  Other than that, there may also be a few local tax propositions on the ballot as well.

To see what's on you ballot, log onto geauxvote.com.  Click "are you a voter?" and select by voter, address or parish.  Fill out your info and walla!  Your looking at your ballot. Downloading the geauxvote mobile app is just as easy.  Follow the same steps on your smart phone, view your ballot, fill it out on your phone and bring it in the polls or Registrar of Voters office with you and vote.
