The Congressional General Election is the final election of the year.  This is a statewide runoff election for candidates seeking a seat in the U.S. Senate and it will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016.  Republican John Kennedy and Democrat Foster Campbell are running a tight race to replace Senator David Vitter.

Early voting for the December 10th election began on November 26 and will end this Saturday on December 3.  In Lake Charles and surrounding areas, early voting takes place at the following locations;

Lake Charles - Parish Courthouse, located at 1000 Ryan Street, in the Registrar of Voters Office on the 2nd floor in suite 7.

Sulphur - West Calcasieu Business Center, located at 500 A N. Huntington ST. BLDG B

Moss Bluff - Moss Bluff Branch Library, Located at 261 Parish Rd., Moss Bluff

Voting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for each day. Click here to find an early voting station near you.  Many parishes throughout the state, will have a variety of Municipal to Special runoffs, and/or Proposition elections going on.  Some items on the ballot include the following:

The face-off between Republican Scott A. Angelle and Republican Clay Higgins and their run for U.S. Representative for the 3rd Congressional District, and Republican “Mike” Johnson faces Democrat Marshall Jones for the 4th Congressional District.

Three runoffs for judges will also be decided.  “Steve” Dean will face off against Clay Hamilton for District Judge in the 5th Judicial District Court, Division C.  Nghana Lewis Gauff will spar off with “Jeff” Perilloux for District Judge for the 40th Judicial District Court, Division B.  Finally vying for Judge in Criminal District Court Section D, are Paul A. Bonin and Kevin Guillory.
