Rapper/actress Eve stopped in to chat with Dj Whoo Kid to discuss losing her first record deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, as well has appearing at the 2016 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors, "Barbershop 3," and more.

The Philly rapper says getting fired by Dr. Dre was the best thing that could have happened to her, because she wouldn’t be where she is today. Eve says she used to show up to sessions that weren’t for her, just trying to get on a song.

Eve also talked about being on the set of “Barbershop 3” with Nicki Minaj, and rather she seemed nervous, citing “I’m sure she was nervous. We talked about it in the first read through and she was nervous, but she did her thing. She did a good job.” She also says she didn’t here Rich Homie Quan’s performance at the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors when he butchered Biggie’s lyrics from Junior Mafia’s “Get Money.”
