Additional Information

The Junior League of Lake Charles is excited to kick off the 2013 holiday season with a week of exciting festivities and great shopping at our Mistletoe & Moss holiday market. Our opening night is Wednesday, November 20th, when we will host a semi-formal Preview Party gala and our special entertainment is our own American Idol Josh Ledet. Preview Party has food catered by dozens of local chefs and is the first chance for early bird shopping.

Thursday, November 21st, we keep the party going with our first ever amateur Bloody Mary contest at our Jazz Brunch. Brunch-goers will have the opportunity to sample Bloody Marys from 5 local contestants and vote on the winner. And of course, you can’t have a Junior League event without fabulous food and this year the League partnered with Dave Evans and Luna Bar and Grill who have put together a brunch menu that will make your mouth water.

Friday night, November 22nd, we hope everyone will come back and enjoy some more of Dave and Luna’s delicious hors d'oeuvres and enjoy the stand up comedy of Lake Charles’ own Jeff D.

And of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa and on Saturday, November 23rd, Luna’s is going to have fresh homemade beignets for the kiddies to eat while they await Santa’s arrival and the chance to be among the first to get their wish lists in to him!

All of that and I haven’t even mentioned the merchants – this year we have 83 fabulous merchants with merchandise ranging from edibles to housewares and women’s and kids clothing to toys and jewelry.

Bring you entire shopping list and I’m willing to bet we can find something at the Market for everyone on it! And the best part about it is that all of the money raised at our market through your ticket purchases and the merchant’s booth rentals goes right back into the community to fund the numerous volunteer projects that the Junior League sponsors. So you can shop, eat, drink and enjoy yourself all for a great cause!
