Other events to mark on your calendar from Oasis:

Kick Off- Oct. 1st at noon we will have a display on the steps of the courthouse downtown and a small ceremony.

Light the Way to Peace Nights- Every Wednesday for the month of October we ask that you would leave your porch light on, this symbolizes that we understand that violence is a problem and hope one day to bring it to an end.

Balloon Release and Survivor Celebration- the balloon release in Cameron is scheduled for 10:00 am on Oct. 11th at the Cameron Council on Aging. Allen Parishes balloon release is Oct. 10th 10:00 am at the Allen Parish Council on Aging. We will also celebrate survivors of domestic violence with a small reception immediately following the Allen Parish balloon release.

Awareness Walk- 25k run/walk from Vinton’s Sheriff’s Substation to Lake Charles Civic Center is on Oct. 12th the run will begin at 6:00 am and end approx. 4:30 pm

Flowers on the Lake- Oct. 29th at 5:30 pm at the Civic Center Seawall we will recognize those who have lost their lives due to domestic violence, we will have a speaker, singing and a memorial.

Lunch at O'Charleys- Oct. 15th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm ten percent of your entire meal ticket will go towards the shelter. Come have lunch with us!

L’Auberge Health Fair, Citgo Health Fair and Women’s Conference- Oasis will have a booth and will provide community education.

Evening with John Fontenot- Oct. 25th Private fund raiser. Time TBA
