Additional Information

The 5th annual BayouCon will be held June 29-30 at Chateau du Calcasieu, 932 Enterprise Blvd. in Lake Charles, providing a unique fan experience to Southwest Louisiana. This year’s event features Vic Mignogna, voice actor from “FullMetal Alchemist” and Captain Kirk from the web series “Star Trek Continues.” John Morton, who appeared on “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” as Boba Fett and Gunner Dak, will also be in attendance.

“BayouCon is a fan driven and fan produced event,” said Justin Toney, president/founder/director of BayouCon. “We are excited to be able to offer this type of entertainment to an area rich in arts and culture. Our headlining guests will offer a lot to the convention this year.”

BayouCon will also have several featured cosplay artists donning their different costumes. Additionally, more than 20 artists and authors will showcase their independent works along with custom commissions.

Some of the highlighted groups at the anime, sci-fi and table top gaming convention include Carnival Epsilon, who performs a classic style steampunk stage show, Orion’s Envy cosplay group from the Star Trek universe, and the Louisiana State Paranormal Research Society. The conference will feature panel discussions on a variety of subjects including costuming, steampunk creations, Star Trek, Star Wars, and more.

Tickets for the weekend are $20 in advance and $25 at the door for adults. Advance tickets may be purchased through www.bayoucon.net. Single day admission for children and adults is also available. All tickets include a yearly membership into the Southwest Louisiana Science Education Foundation.

BayouCon is made possible by the Southwest Louisiana Science Education Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the promotion of and appreciation for popularized culture and comics, primarily through the presentation of conventions, festivals and events that celebrate the ongoing contributions of these art forms.
