The Calcasieu Workforce Center (CWC) will host its annual Youth Summit and Job Fair Wednesday, April 17, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mezzanine and Contraband Room at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

This year’s theme is “Get Over YOUrself” and is designed to motivate the youth of Southwest Louisiana to overcome life’s obstacles and be the best they can be.

TaMarlon Carter, a youth advocate and entrepreneur dedicated to cultivating a community of success, will be the keynote speaker. Carter will address ways to overcome barriers, help youth meet their employment and training goals.

Twenty-five employers are expected to be on hand to interview for various job openings. Youth ages 16-24 are encouraged to come dressed for an interview; bring resume, and a great attitude.
